Official rules for Liga Leones Negros recreational soccer league

Player Eligibility

  • •All players must be 18 years or older
  • •Valid government-issued photo ID required for registration
  • •Players must be in good physical health and able to participate fully
  • •No professional or semi-professional players allowed
  • •Maximum of 2 players per team from any single club or organization

Match Duration & Format

  • •Matches consist of two 35-minute halves with a 10-minute halftime
  • •Total match time: 80 minutes
  • •Games start promptly at scheduled time
  • •Minimum 7 players per team required to start (including goalkeeper)
  • •Maximum 11 players per team on the field

Substitutions

  • •Unlimited substitutions allowed during the match
  • •Substitutions can only be made during stoppages of play
  • •Players entering as substitutes must wait for the referee's signal
  • •Goalkeeper substitutions require referee approval
  • •No re-entry allowed once substituted (except for goalkeeper)

Yellow & Red Cards

  • •Yellow Card: Warning for unsporting behavior, dissent, or minor fouls
  • •Second Yellow Card: Player sent off for the remainder of the match
  • •Red Card: Immediate expulsion from the match
  • •Red card offenses include: violent conduct, serious foul play, spitting, abusive language
  • •Suspended players cannot participate in the next scheduled match
  • •Multiple red cards may result in extended suspensions

Forfeits & No-Shows

  • •Teams must arrive 15 minutes before match time
  • •Forfeit declared if team has fewer than 7 players at start time
  • •Forfeiting team loses 3-0 and receives 0 points
  • •No refunds for forfeited matches
  • •Repeated forfeits may result in league expulsion

Code of Conduct

  • •Respect opponents, referees, and spectators at all times
  • •No abusive language, threats, or harassment
  • •Celebrations must be appropriate and not taunting
  • •Coaches and substitutes must remain in designated areas
  • •Alcohol consumption prohibited at league facilities
  • •Smoking only in designated areas outside the facility

Additional Information

Equipment Requirements

  • • Shin guards (mandatory)
  • • Appropriate athletic footwear
  • • Team jerseys (provided by league)
  • • Goalkeeper gloves recommended
  • • No jewelry or metal accessories

Weather Policy

  • • Games played in all weather conditions
  • • Lightning: 30-minute delay minimum
  • • Extreme heat: Water breaks every 15 minutes
  • • Field conditions determine playability

Rule Interpretations: The league commissioner has final authority on rule interpretations. All decisions are made in the best interest of fair play and league integrity. Questions about rules should be directed to the league administration.
